Weekly December 21

Monday
Today is the Winter Solstice, falling exactly at 12:47 pm EST as the Sun shifts to Capricorn.  Capricorn is sort of like Father Time, ruled by Saturn the planet of wisdom.  Also, time shifts now as daylight begins to return slowly.  A slow, patient approach is a good idea today with a long void of course Moon from 7:53 am to 6:42 pm.  Don't allow yourself to be rushed or pushed.  There's lots of Aquarius energy with the Moon, Neptune and Jupiter in a massive conjunction there.  While Aquarius is outgoing,  there's a tendency to daydream and wish and possibly escape the realities that bother us now.  Try not to act on impulse and to stay rational even if daydreams pull you in.  The Moon is in harmony with Venus and simple adventures and interactions with friends are a happy way to spend the day.  Major decisions are not recommended. The Moon is in Pisces uncomplicated by angles with other planets.  Pisces Moon time is not the most highly motivated but it's meant to be a mellow day.  Relax into things that have to be done and do them in your own time. It's a very good day to be on vacation and take things easy.  In these days just preceding Mercury and Mars retrogrades leave plenty of room to change your mind.  It's not a very reliable time for commitment.  Be flexible and expect to make some schedule changes in the days coming up.  Capricorn, Mercury will retrograde in your sign so you're best off penciling things in and replying with an "I'll get back to ya".  On the other hand, it's a great time to really reconnect with family and friends from the past. The Moon is in Pisces working with Mercury in Capricorn adding a little bit more structure. Planning, preparing, and reconnecting with each other is in the forecast.  Make flexible plans knowing that mercury's retrograde may change things.  It starts officially on Saturday the 26th but we're feeling it now.  Also, get ready by making backups of files, spoies of important papers, and lists of things you can't forget to do.  Slow and easygoing is the best approach, but Mercury helps us organize and get things done on our own time table today.  Tonight is a little bit chaotic as the Moon meets Uranus. This is a monthly occurence that can feel like a Full Moon and Pisces is a very sensitive sign for the Moon, so be careful with feelings and watch out for overindulgence.  Drinks can catch up with us quickly and emotional situations can be exaggerated on a night like this.  Friends may show up unexpectedly too! The Moon is void of course from 3:09 to 6:39 am. The strange, unusual and dreams states are particularly activated then. It's also a time to watch out for anything at all that could be unnerving, overly emotional, or accidental.  If you're partying late this week, be forewarned! The Moon moves to Aries for today and all of Christmas.  Today is spontaneous and full of energy!  It will be busy and fast paced and with the Sun meeting Pluto also highly philosophical and ambitious. Merry Christmas! The Moon is in Aries, and Venus moves into Capricorn. This is the last day before Mercury is officially retrograde for a few weeks, also in Capricorn.  Aside from being a holiday, today is very much about leadership.  Aries is the pioneer, leading us in new directions, and being willing to lead or learn is helpful today.  The Sun square to Saturn can bring up issues with parents and other authorities.  Trying to compromise or see the whole picture may not be easy. The Aries effect sometimes makes it hard to see beyond our own needs, so selfish or self centered-ness will be evident in certain situations.  Aries and Capricorn, there's alot of planetary energy in your signs, so you're likely to be a the center of all kinds of things.  Libra, you're also related as one of the 3 cardinal signs and are affected too.  Keeping the peace and a balance of power is today's challenge.  If you can do that, the Aries Moon can be fun and it's a good night for sports and games.  It's an active day so do more than sit around and eat! Mercury retrograde begins officially at 9:26 am though we'ver been experiencing the effects for over a week now.  The Moon squares Mercury in Aries and Capricorn overnight which makes power struggles likely. Both signs like to be in charge and to do things  without interference.  The boss may be difficult to deal with if you have to work today.  Miscommunication increases for all signs, and we also have a void of course Moon to contend with until 3:26 pm. It's not a day to have to rely on good judgement and there's a combination of stubbornness and impulsivity that makes today less than rational.  Tonight the Moon is in harmony with Venus and the Moon is in Taurus which is nicer generally.  Venus newly in Capricorn is practical in love, favors earth signs and also Cancers in long term relationships.  That helps a little bit Cancer since Mercury retrograde is also impacting your marriage or love life in a confusing way for a few weeks here.  Expect ups and downs and one day to be fine and the next to be dramatic.  Scorpio and Taurus old friends and ex lovers play a part in your life again during this retrograde. Just to catch up, Mercury is now retrograde in Capricorn until mid January, and Venus is in that same sign.  Capricorn likes organization and a rational point of view, and those things may be hard to come by during these weeks.  This affects Cancer,Taurus, Scorpio and Capricorn relationships and social lives and Sagittarius and Gemini with business and financial dealings, Leo with usual routine and habits, and Aries with career and who ever you consider to be the boss.  Libra will need to work hard or relax about relationships at home and that includes both family and other roommates.  All of us need to leave room to change our minds about moves we make now.  It's not a good time for promises or definite expectations. It's best if you don't have to start a new job or sign legal papers, and it's best not to get married or form a new business partnership.  Put off things that can wait, but if great opportunities come along instead of passing on them just realize they will probably turn out different than you expect. Monday
The Moon moves to Sagittarius in harmony with Saturn in Libra. Getting organized around educational and social plans is in the forecast. It's a good day to apply for school or get an acceptance, register for classes or plan an event or gathering.  Scheduling travel also makes sense today.  The Sagittarius Moon's free spirit is given a little structure and we'll tend to commit to things we penciled in as possibilities.  We're just a week from the degrees Mercury will retrace so it's better to commit now than after the 20th.  The Sun is also in Sagittarius aligned with Jupiter in Aquarius for good luck! The Moon and Venus are close in Sagittarius, working well with Mars in Leo for a fiery, active day.  Motivation should come easily but if not team up with Sagittarius, Aries or Leo and work together.  Today is fun and competitive favoring games and sports. Both Leo and Sagittarius instigate, and breaking out of ruts and routines is in the forecast.  Fire signs should feel fortunate and willing to take a chance.  Aquarius, your relationships and friendships are in the forefront, and making new friends and other social plans is on the agenda for you.  Libra, family relationships and communication can improve now with a little effort.  Venus and Mars getting along is generally good for love and relationship and right now favors Aquarius, Gemini, Leo and Sagittarius most.  Saturn square to Pluto is today's difficulty and Capricorn and Libra and those with Libra or Capricorn rising or Moon signs are most affected.  This can be a harsh reality check and a message you haven't been taking care of things you're responsible for.  If you're about 27-30 years old this applies as part of your Saturn return time and you might be feeling the heat in cycles. The Moon is in Capricorn, and this is a day to take action, show organization, and really get things done.  Venus and Mars also work together favoring our interactions with each other and increasing mutual understanding. More than this even, Mars and Venus create chemistry and attraction, especially for Leo and Sagittarius.  It's a great day to make a date or let someone know how you feel.  It's fun and full of energy and not overly emotional or too sentimental.  Balance work and play.  Today is meant to be simple, to the point, spontaneous and productive both.  Tonight is a date night or time to party if work is accomplished first! Friday
The Moon and Mercury meet in Capricorn for organization and planning.  Today is the last day I recommend shopping for expensive or unreturnable items. Mercury retrogrades on the 26th but we are into the shadow degrees the planet will retrace.  Decide, take action, and have important conversations today before 3:07 pm if possible. The Moon moves void of course then.  How much we can get done will determine alot about our stress levels. Business accomplished by the end of the day is well timed.  The Moon and Uranus are ready to stir things up late in the day with changes, conflicts of interests and unanticipated events.  Tonight things could get a little bit crazier than expected.  If you're working late, stick to usual routines and take precautions and back up everything. We should all back up files and have systems for remembering where we put or file things now.  Wear black.

Saturday
The Moon is in Aquarius from 5:38 am through the weekend.  Aquarius Moon time will be creative, but unanticipated changes may be hard to deal with or adjust to.  Venus and Uranus are out of sync in Sagittarius and Pisces and relationship problems will be stubborn. Status changes are increased and we'll probably hear of break ups more than get togethers this weekend.  Don't let your friends down now. We need to know we belong as the Moon and Saturn align, and partners and best friends need to be able to rely on each other.  Let someone know you are there if they need you.  Try not to back out of plans.  Big gatherings and parties are favored with the Moon in the sign of community and friends.  Wear bright blue.

Mars retrograde begins and we are in the shadow of Mercury retrograde. Reversals of all kinds become more likely and it's good if we can slow down, take off some pressure, and go with the flow.  Back up all your files and check ahead for any potential changes of time or other plans.  Double check dates and avoid missing appointments or engagements.  The Moon is in Aquarius directly opposite Mars causing conflicts of interest, debates, and the feeling of being on opposite sides.  Friendship situations might seem to require we take sides too.  Today could be uncomfortable that way. Aquarius is a loyal, fixed sign so choosing a side seems unnatural.  We may have more trouble understanding each other than usual. Aquarius and Leo may notice this alot, and Aries this is your ruling planet in the place of luck, love and creativity in your chart, so if you feel like things are going against you, take a step back and don't force it.  Luckily Venus and Jupiter help balance things out with some optimism and generosity.  Go where you feel accepted. The Moon moves from Leo to Virgo at 2:05 pm EST. The void of course Leo Moon is happy go lucky but makes room for Mercury and Pluto to dominate, and I mean that word in it's full context. Power plays are in the forecast.  Communication involves important conversations that shouldn't be shrugged off. Planning becomes very important.  Serious issues need attention. The hidden emerges and we'll look for some resolution as things we thought we avoided or buried stare us in the face! If you somehow are immune to that meeting of the planets in Capricorn, the Leo Moon just wants to take it easy or work on creative projects this morning.  Who gets what is hard to predict! The Moon to Virgo in the afternoon activates the practical, productive streak in us.  The evening is about work and study, writing and working on finances or even getting holiday cards to chores done.  Wear black today.

Tuesday
It's a 4th quarter Moon in Virgo and today flexibility is key. Problem solving and reconsidering details is in the forecast. Leo and Aquarius will have paperwork or forms to fill out and money matters to consider. Both signs may also consider new employment or leaving their present position now. There's no need to be in a hurry today.  The most practical decisions are favored.  Cancer and Capricorn there's alot of to and from, travel and word to get out. Send invitations or submit a finished project now.  Gemini, work around the house will be very satisfying even if it's a challenge to get things the way you want them.  Sagittarius you are the career oriented one today and need to not lose focus there this week.  If you are not in a career yet, you need to take a leadership role in a group you belong to or with friends now.  There's no need to set things in stone today-get things done and leave some room to change if necessary.  Tonight is the same.  Work takes precedence over social plans. There's a long void of course Moon from 5:04 am to 5:47 pm. The Moon in Virgo is opposite Uranus in Pisces as it begins, throwing today off balance, increasing the chances of change and surprises and bringing unanticipated news. How we react determines the kind of day ahead.  It's not a good time for big decisions or purchases however we might relax and make simple decisions more easily.  Stay a little bit in guard and don't be pressured today.  The Moon moves to Libra tonight, squares  powerful Pluto and approaches Saturn. So while we may want to relax and be with friends, go out and have fun, there's a serious tone and plenty of reminders about the things we're responsible for.  The more we've fulfilled obligations the better tonight.  Wear gray.

The Moon is in Libra square to Mercury in Capricorn early in the day.  Mercury rules all our plans, conversations, and mental processes.  Decision making and compromise may not be easy today, but if you're willing to be persistent and agreeable it can be done.   Being fair and looking for harmony is favored over pushing your agenda at someone else's expense.  Power plays are in the forecast this week so it may be a struggle to hold your ground.  Half way or no way for Capricorn, Cancer, Libra and Aries today. As the day goes on the Moon harmonizes with Venus and the Sun with Mars giving us energy and creating better feelings between us. Make your best first impression.  The Moon works with Jupiter, Neptune and the Sun so we'll tend to see the bright side of things, be more forgiving and generous, and open to new people and experiences.  It's a good day for a holiday shopping trip and relaxing or fun times with friends this afternoon. Mixing business with pleasure is better than all business today. The Moon is in Scorpio for the weekend. Scorpio Moon tends to hold on tightly and this weekend may be sentimental. In fact we may long for things to be the way they used to be or to reconnect with lovers and close friends from the past.  The Scorpio Moon works with Mercury for planning, creativity and productivity in general.  Venus in Sagittarius is working for freedom and understanding in love and relationships, but this Scorpio Moon can be jealous and possessive.  Taurus and Scorpio may be feeling some strain in relationship while Leo, Sagittarius and Aquarius will tend to go Venus's way and be out mostly to enjoy life and have fun.  Today's color is maroon.

The Scorpio Moon is out of sorts today, square to planets in Aquarius including Neptune which adds to feelings of distrust. Things may seem needlessly difficult and people around us may dig their heels in and refuse to budge. Monday
The Moon is in Taurus tangling with Mars in Leo. These are very different energies, but working on long term plans and solving longstanding problems is worthwhile.  Solutions and compromises may not come easily but good things take patience and compromise sometimes.  Leo and Taurus are two signs that challenge each other for progress and growth.  Getting past some blocks and stubborn points of view is in the forecast as a result.  Squares dominate the whole day, so we have to work for what we want, and Mercury and Uranus say we also have to think on our feet and act on inspiration.  A-ha moments hit and everything can suddenly shift, especially in terms of how we think.  Be willing to change your perspective and listen to other opinions.  Tonight, Taurus and Pisces may question which direction is up, and Aquarius will bring up ideas you hadn't thought of.  Keep open minds but don't act without thought and consideration.  Full Moon warm up is in full swing tonight so we might get nervous or motivated about things that are due now.  Wear green today.

And the last month of the decade begins!  The Moon is full at 2:30 am tomorrow, so the urge to get important things accomplished kicks in.  After a very short void of course, the Moon moves to Gemini at 9:23 am. The Gemini Moon is void of course this morning and just past full.  This is not a good morning for big decisions and even small choices might feel difficult.   The Full Moon brings deadlines but it's not good to be pressed for an answer before 11 am today. Buy yourself time.  Do routine things, clean up but don't unintentionally hide things in the process. At 11 am EST the Moon moves to Cancer and we're better off facing things than doing the Cancer crab sidestep.  People may seem defensive or we may feel we have to protect our own best interests.  The evening is affected by Saturn in Libra square to the Moon and we revisit what's fair.  Can you share rather than hoarding? From needing all the attention to sharing the chores at home, issues of what's equal and just come up for resolution.  Falling back into our own little worlds or our own dramas is likely but if you're aware of that possibility you might be able to come out of your shell.  Everyone will need a comfort zone tonight.  Wear light blue.

The Moon is in Cancer and that can mean mood swings.  It's our nature to protect the people and things we care about and look for the most secure course of action today.  People will tend to retreat if threatened and may avoid problems and issues.  You'll notice people hiding out or missing from their usual posts.  Venus and Saturn start us off this morning by emphasizing relationships and once again fairness.  Divide responsibilities and make agreements you can live by.  Cancer, Capricorn, Aries and Libra are most directly impacted in relationship, but many of us will experience this in different ways this week.  Venus in Sagittarius is looking for some space and freedom and an open mind, so this may be the day to talk about loosening things up a little bit, seeing other people, dating more casually, or redefining a long term relationship. Chances are we'll be very sensitive and prone to easy upset.  Be careful where feelings are concerned since this is not a very forgiving kind of day.  Personal relationships will be most difficult, while on the other hand the Moon and Jupiter brings luck, vision and maybe even profit! Work and study can be productive and a sense of accomplishment will feel really good.  Use intellect and objectivity as much as possible. It's emotional situations that will be troublesome today.  Tonight the Moon and Neptune meet and then the Moon is void of course from 10:35 pm to 11:07 am. These are not reliable hours in any way! Actions count much more than words. See it before you believe it.  Aquarius, there's a big focus on your sign today in relationships and career, all of which may be challenging and require alot of energy. But luck is on your side. The Moon is in Scorpio and we may need to tread lightly. Scorpio Moon time can be heavy and serious and Mercury changes signs today which can stir things up.  With Mercury in Sagittarius we'll crave freedom of thought and action and can break out of old patterns in the next few weeks. Not the next Mercury retrograde begins on December 26th which is not a bad time of year for it if you ask me! What it does mean though is that last minute shopping is not recommended.
