New Moon in Cancer, Astrology for July 4th-10th, 2021

July's first full week leads to New Moon in Cancer, Friday July 9th at 9:17 pm EST.  Magical Neptune and exhilarating Uranus form favorable aspects that feel magical, mystical, exhilarating and intuitive. Cancers born close to the 9th experience this New Moon as a rebirth, an invitation to powerful shifts that occur on the inside even if external life appears the same. Two days later, Mercury enters Cancer with a sentimental influence, often returning us to places we once lived or loved, to childhood homes, vacation spots, and the overnights with friends. Venus is in Leo through July 21st, a time of parties, performances and little or larger luxuries. Vacation plans are well timed for July. Other business and motivation may be slowed or delayed while Jupiter and Saturn are in retrograde. July 22nd and 23rd are significant dates of change and news as the Sun moves to Leo, followed by Aquarius Full Moon.

Sunday: July 4th forecast includes the wildly unpredictable Uranus/Moon meeting. This tends to bring up something unexpected that takes us from our comfort zone. The Moon in harmony with the Sun favors cozy, family type activities over huge parties. Today looks a bit edgy, competitive or even argumentative potentially as the Moon squares both Saturn and Mars. Monday: Taurus Moon morning. The Moon joins forces with Neptune and Pluto, highlighting inner sensations and influences. Intuition strengthens. Listen in more than seeking from external sources. Various aspects range from highly social and fun, as Venus in Leo aligns with the Moon, to doubting and questioning as Mercury squares Neptune. Wednesday: Gemini Moon in harmony with Mars in Leo gets us going on ideas and taking action to make things happen. Thursday: Gemini Moon fills us with words, conversation, stories and ideas while in harmony with related planet Mercury. You may have noticed this last night too as the conjunction happens at 12:20 am EST. Think out what you want to speak or write. Writers may revel in all the air sign energy. Void Moon 12:20 am to 9:51 am so get an early start on that type of work. Cancer Moon follows and is moving us toward New Moon Friday night. The Moon works compatibly with Jupiter in the healing waters of Pisces, for empathy, generosity and creative bursts. Friday: New Moon in Cancer supported by magical Neptune, romantic and creative. The New Moon happens as Moon and Sun meet at 9:17 pm EST. Set intentions, release a worry or useless grudge, and experience something special and unusual tonight under the dark, yet starry sky. Watch for fireflies, ufos or astronomical occurrences, whether you're a believer or not. Take a swim and clear and purify your spaces. Uranus aligns with the Moon for spontaneous surprises and revelations that may come from others or from within. Today's color is White.

Saturday: Cancer Moon aligns directly with Neptune this morning for a continuation of yesterday's New Moon vibe. Cancer Moon also opposes Pluto in Capricorn, emphasizing our inner thoughts and feelings. Today may be mellow on the outside and also extra reflective and thoughtful or emotional on the inside. Pluto can bring things up from deep places within, such as fears or anxieties. Consider whether they're past or present time or relevant, if this happens in an unpleasant way.  Monday: New Moon in Cancer, Saturn Direct

 It's a significant day of summer as Saturn stations direct in Scorpio at 1:12 am ET. This can free some blocked and stubborn energy in Scorpio. Compulsions can be easier to break and patterns change more readily. Be clear about what's holding things up or with someone who tries to have power or a hold over you. Saturn rules Capricorn, maturity, ambition, authority, the elderly and karma. We finally learn lessons that have been staring us in the ace or that we didn't want to believe. Scorpio rules sexuality and aspects of medicine like surgeries. Any of these matters can reach turning points more easily now. The New Moon in Cancer at 3:14 am meets Mercury retrograde. The past surfaces. A chance to resolve something, even temporarily, comes. Letting go of the past in favor of a new, more emotionally healthy, direction is a good way to use this New Moon energy. Astrologically this is like Mother's Day too, and connecting with the mother figures in our lives is well timed. Ask questions and clarify to avoid any Mercury retrograde misunderstandings today. See friends, especially the ones you have to travel to or make time for infrequently. Enjoy a trip down memory lane in some way, but keep it positive and friendly. Release a grudge or emotional habit. Define personal priorities. Put a stop to someone else's obsessive or begrudging behavior with a newly defined boundary.  Tuesday: Leo Moon

 The Moon moves into Leo at 6:48 am. If yesterday wasn't very productive or felt sluggish, today should provide contrast and a new chance to make things happen. The Leo Moon is optimistic yet also in problem solving mode, square to Saturn in Scorpio. We're more likely to go at tough, long term problems with tenacity and a get it done attitude. The Cancer Sun meets Mercury for another strong retrograde influence, mainly in the form of getting back in touch with people we care about. A visit to someone or some place you used to know or go is in harmony with this conjunction today. Connecting over the past is likely. The key is to make that about good feelings and time, not grudges or negativity. Today's color is purple.

 Wednesday: Leo Moon

 Today leans a bit toward the dramatic side and events while the Moon and Uranus align can be surprising and wild. The Leo Moon loves a good show and tends to be generous and expressive, while Uranus in Aries means never a dull moment. Some news will involve relationship status, especially in Leo, Aquarius, and Aries worlds. Getting back together happens during retrogrades sometimes. Who's with who now may be a big topic today. Couples find reason to celebrate if in love as the Moon meets Venus. Celebrations, surprises, and adventures are in the forecast today. Keep in mind some of this can put off those not in celebratory mode or those who need time to adjust to change. Today's color is orange.

Thursday: Leo to Virgo Moon

The Moon is in Leo, sign of children, teaching and performing, until 6:12 pm.  The Leo Moon is good for most any kind of business today and is in harmony with Mars for taking action. We're propelled by Monday's New Moon yet Mercury is still retrograde so try things out, regroup after the 20th to determine more permanent plans. Some of what we undertake now we'll change our minds or tactics on later.  It's a good day to go over material and refresh your memory.  The Virgo Moon moves in for evening and is also good for memorizing, rehearsing, and going over more detailed information.  Tonight improve your work or workout ethic.  Today's color is brown.

Friday: Virgo Moon

The Virgo Moon is aligned with Saturn, Jupiter and Pluto for work ethic and moves surrounding growth, expansion, prosperity, and organization.  Mercury is retrograde so be meticulous with information and details whole continuing to forge ahead carefully with plans now.  Take slow steps and have someone edit or double check work.  With Saturn now direct, see progress coming where none was to be seen last week.  This is good news for people trying to sell houses or businesses or make progress with health care, things related to elderly relatives, and investments among other things.  Be organized and clear with your communications and make sure you're understood.  Neptune could fog our better judgement from Pisces yet gives us the motivation to stop and relax too. Tonight can be romantic and fun for simple pleasures.  Today's color is indigo.

Saturday: Virgo Moon, Mars in Cancer

Mars is a fish out of water in Cancer from today until August 27th.  This increases tendencies to be passive aggressive, moody and confront in emotional outbursts when emotions overflow.  On the positive side, Mars will be in harmony with Saturn, Jupiter and Neptune this month and that can aid in taking action creatively and help break through stuck points.  If you're happily sitting on the fence, not moving on things, and you're a Cancer or Cancer rising, Mars will aggravate things to the point where you must make a move.  Mercury is retrograde in Cancer too, for another week, so be satisfied with steady, measured progress or planning rather than taking immediate action unti after the 20th.  The Moon in Virgo is void of course from 11:26 am to 3:41 am ET tomorrow.  Do chores, simple routine work or have a leisurely day.  It's best not to attempt difficult tasks or problem solving since it may just take longer than usual. Information and directions have missing pieces today.  The Moon works with Mercury retrograde and the Sun so our social interactions and attitudes are likely to be good as long as there's not too much pressure in what you're doing.  Today's color is navy blue.

Sunday: Libra Moon

The Libra Moon moves in and squares Mars, Jupiter and Pluto. Today we look for some kind of harmony amidst recurring issues.  Try to see another perspective on a problem.  Collaborate and be willing to listen and try someone else's way with the option of going back to your own if you want to.  Family, home, partnership, and old issues are what's surfacing.  Balance might seem hard to achieve and today is about setting the stage for that with conversations and mediations that could lead in the right direction over time.  Mercury is retrograde so seek temporary solutions and revisit them in a week or two to see if revisions are needed.  Today's color is lavender.

Monday: Gemini to Cancer Moon

This is 4th quarter Moon phase and Mercury is retrograde. Noth indicate plenty of rethinking and a look at what's working well and what could be improved upon. The New Moon Thursday is a good time to start a trial basis or temporary plan. Reevaluate after Mercury retrograde ends August 8th. The Gemini Moon and Saturn align for mediation and intentional discussion today. Take the word of friends and siblings seriously. There's a tendency to be sarcastic today as well, and with Mercury retrograde we can be easily misunderstood. Word things carefully in conversation and in writing. The Moon is void of course from 6:56 am to 8:31 pm EST and then shifts to Cancer until Thursday. Cancer Moon directs us to what we consider the safety zone. We'll be sentimental and tend to look back in time over the next couple of days. Today's color is black.

Tuesday: Mars Squares Pluto and the Moon

The Cancer Moon's defensive nature is called into play today as warrior Mars in Libra pushes emotional buttons. Retreat could be the best plan for now. Mercury is retrograde and it's not the ultimate time for confrontation or solutions unless they are temporary. It might not be easy, but try to keep tempers and reactions in check. Avoid physicals risks, gambles, and other chances that could have consequences with Mars very active today. Negotiating emotional, sensitive situations is today's big challenge. Mars square to Pluto can be accident prone and leave us feeling vulnerable tonight. Take care of yourself and each other. Go easy. Wear white.

Wednesday: Cancer Moon

This is the eve of the New Moon, and today's Cancer Moon squares Saturn which can put us out of sorts about selfish behavior or obligations we need to fulfill. Mars opposite Uranus can be angry or accident prone. Tread lightly, be reserved if you're feeling uncertain, and get a hold on emotional reactions. Follow through on commitments is a good idea. Trust your intuition and stay away from what doesn't feel safe or people who don't seem trustworthy. This is also a day of consideration and rethinking before tomorrow's New Moon. Plan fresh starts and new beginnings with flexibility to change your mind built in. Tonight, play it safe in every way. Wear black.

Thursday: New Moon in Cancer

The New Moon in Cancer is at 12:24 am EST, and then the Moon is void of course for about 6 hours. Overnight, use caution and care. We'll tend to be reactive, moody, and lack judgment with Mars opposite Uranus and the void Moon. Wait out decisions and avoid initiating anything from a debate to a relationship decision. The Leo Moon moves in at 6:13 am and this part of the week is prime for revisting old business, running into people from the past, and retracing steps from the last couple of weeks. The Moon and Jupiter work to buoy our spirits if the Cancer Moon was sad or rough around the edges. Come out of your shell a bit and see if there's someone helpful, fun or inspirational to guide you. The Moon works with Uranus and Mars, yesterday's unstigators, and we might find better solutions or work our way of of trouble or bad situations tonight. Keep that cautious, instinctive edge though. Friday: Moon meets Mercury retrograde in Leo

Welcome to the most retrograde of the retrograde days this season! The Moon and Mercury meet in Leo for dramatic reunions, unexpected reconnections, a return to places that once played a big part in your summers (of life in general), and potentially communication mishaps and misunderstandings. Leo is expressive and we might shoot our mouths off too readily. Try not to make promises you won't keep. Enjoy life by revisting childhood places or playing with kids, or just getting into fun and games. It's a great time for a party and other social plans. Do have some flexibility about time and circumstances and you'll avoid frustration. Accept invitations. Wear orange.

Saturday: Virgo Moon

The day starts with void of course Leo Moon from 1:17 am to 1:24 pm. Take care of significant matters carefully with Mercury retrograde and void of course Moon. Saturn says there may be reason to look objectively, act in fairness, and be willing to shoulder some work in the morning. After 1:24 pm the Virgo Moon opposes Neptune and balancing work and analytical tasks with some daydreaming or good, healthy escape from reality with music or a movie or creative pastimes is favored.  This is the last night of Cancer Sun and Cancer birthdays and a nice, easygoing celebration trumps anything overdone tonight.  Wear navy blue.

Sunday: Sun to Leo

The height of summer begins as the Sun moves to Leo at 6:01 am. The Virgo Moon squares both Venus and Jupiter in Gemini. Calls for some assistance will be common, and we might feel stuck if we don't have the right supporting players.  Keep communication clear since these are both Mercury ruled signs, prone to the effects of retrograde Mercury. Be wary of misinformation, exaggeration and relationship or friendship strain.  Mercury aligns with Mars in Leo and Libra continuing the reconnections, but today old injustices or slights may come up. If something is unresolved this could be a second chance to come to peace with a situation.  The Virgo Moon has some work ethic today, and physical activity is a good way to work out any stress. Virgo needs to move, and with the Moon here avoid too much mental/intellectual work or overthinking! Wear gold.
